It is the day after Thanksgiving and hopefully you are curled up, in elastic pants, watching TV or reading a book. I had a wonderful Thanksgiving. In my 6+ years of New York City living, this is actually the first Thanksgiving, I have spent in the city.
I have a lot to be grateful for this year. The big ticket items on my gratitude list are family, friends, and good health. I'd like to share a few more items that I am super thankful for this year:
*My embroidery class. I look forward to this class every week. It fuels my creativity and I am grateful to the women in the class. My teacher, Lubow, is also such a gem! She's in her 80s and continues to teach the class after 25+ years!
*My therapist. She always so supportive and I always feel like she is on my side even if I am not on my own side.
*My superintendent, Simon. He is out every morning sweeping the leaves from front steps. He says hello to everyone and does such a beautiful job of keeping our home clean.
* My dance class, S Factor. I haven't talked at all about my dance class on this blog mainly because it is a pole dancing class. But, I am so grateful for this class. It is a safe space to be me and the women I have met in the classes are lovely!
*Time spent on the 19th floor. For about 4 months, my desk at work was on the 19th floor. I had a corner cube, next to a window overlooking 5th Avenue. It was temporary, but I am so grateful to have spent time on this floor. I made new friends and relished the beautiful views.
What are you grateful for this year? What do you look forward to for next year? I am also really grateful to everyone who reads this blog! I appreciate having such a supportive and caring audience, so thank you!
